Front axel damage causes demise of our Chevy Astro.
It is what we drove to raise our children.
My kids are 21; 16 and 14.

The engine and tranny are still very good condition.

What should I do with it? I think the engine is
a 4.3 litre six cylinder.

Wonder if it would go into my '77 Toyota that I
just can't let go of (sorry, after many, many
thousands of miles, it never stopped running, I just
parked it and shut it off).

Nawwww, I'd still have to smog and just too weird
Put an ad on craigslist to sell for parts...
reasonable offer....no takers yet. Put in yesterday.

I suppose the answer will likely be: Let it go, Louie,
let it go.

"Donate" it, Dennis. VFW, PBS, etc. It's a tax deduction waiting to happen!

I'd complain to GM that it didn't last long enough.

Astro vans are a rarity 'round here. and if you do see one, the rocker panals below the front doors are completely gone.
they all rotted away.
But for as ugly as I always thought they were, they were very tough vehicles.

I've owned 4. Great work vehicles and comfortable to haul the kids around in. Still upset at GM for giving it the ax

This is California,so it's someone else's fault.
Sue GM,stating that it was their fault that it wore out.
I think I'll sue Lucas - headlight burned out in only
34 years.

Still waiting for someone to take it for next to
nothing.

That van hauled my three kids and a whole bunch
of Boy Scouts through the back woods and through
the snow. (Snow survial skills....we, in California,
are kinda afraid of the stuff.)

I still keep my 1991 Ford Ranger XLS around for haulin. It was the first new vehicle me and the mrs ordered from the dealer. It's starting to rust a tad but I'll tell ya it was so far such a great car I probably on put a few G's into it for repairs and upkeep in the 17 years I've owned it. I use it for Depot runs and taking crap to the dump. It also has been seen on the BCF on more than one occasion, hauling MG parts filled to the brim.

1969 Chevy C-20.

Still fixing it; still driving it, about like you do.
