i too sat in the new mini at britfest 2002, and was quite pleased with the car. the old mini its not, but i'm glad BMW is keeping john coopers legacy alive. the old mini(austin 7) was a groundbreaker with its transverse engine, and
issigonis designed suspension. and room for all your blokes. the new mini has the styling cues from the old one, with lots of gizmos and gadgets,(and a price to reflect that), but once you see it up close it can only be a mini cooper. nothing else like it on the road. i like the new mini and would be proud to have one. i would prefer the original mini cooper s though.
