Seems to me there was one of these on eBay about 2 years ago that was discussed here.
Couldn't find anything when I searched /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

Found a picture of the exceedingly rare Costin Nathan Spyder...(AKA Astra)

Only 2 known to exist

Here's a shot of the Lotus 30 I was working on.
Good Lord!! I just noticed the cement blocks!
I sure don't remember that part.
Do not try this at home!!

Car looks sweet. Not so good about the CB "stands" tho.

...'course the car weighs about the same as a Radio Flyer wagon, but still...

Ya know, I honestly do not remember the thing being on the blocks, and can't imagine why it was in the first place. There must have been 40 jackstands in that shop.
I was working up top, and never paid any attention to that part.
I won't say where it was taken, but it's a very highly respected place.

Yup, love those cement block stands... Safety is our #1 motto? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

And I must say that the Costin Nathan coupe (at the start of this thread) is gorgeous!

Why the heck not...

Everybody else was putting a 289 in their cars. (TVR, Sunbeam, AC)

Why not toss one in a 23.

(Except I trust Chapman a bit more than the others to make it actually work)

How do you get rid of some of that torque?
Maybe cut an inch off the top of the block and shorten the rods?

I mean other wise...Holy-cow!
Wouldn't it just wanna chase its tail like a cat?

Did you not just answer your own question?

I'm sure it was a handful of snakes but Oh baby, obabyOh! F-1 cars were power-to-weight about the same. Even BETTER now.

From my understanding, the 30 is a real handful. And I'm being kind. Jimmy Clark couldn't make it work.
According to Wikipedia, the 40 was supposed to be a vast improvement, but when asked how it was, Richie Ginther said it was "Like the 30, but with ten more mistakes."
Strangely enough, much of the chassis design was incorporated into the Europa.
