Fasteners, yet again!

Has anyone ever heard of Big Head Fasteners? I really need to source some but I'm struggling to find any reference to them. Basically they're used in fiber glassing applications and it looks a bit like a screw or bolt shank but with a large washer for the head. You bond them in place when you're laying up fiber glass by covering the head with the strips of glass fiber... they cure rock hard and you're left with the shank sticking out of the bodywork, internally, so you can attach parts to them. I'm not having much luck on the internet, either sourcing them or other fiber glass supplies.

Any ideas??

You can try Aircraft Spruce and Specialty, they are a big supplier for the homebuilt aircraft market. They sell 'Click Bond' fasteners and 'E-Z Point' nuts and studs (check the links below)
I personally have never used these types of fasteners because I only have worked with metal aircraft structures, however it may be what you are looking.
You may consider getting their catalog anyway, because they sell hydraulics, fasteners, etc. that are used in race cars as well.

Can't add anything about the original question, but have done a little with Aircraft Spruce and Specialty and must say I could not have finished my TR7 rebuild without them. Their catalogue is packed with neat stuff and is a fun thing to look through if nothing else. Certainly wouldn't be surprised if they had just what you needed.

If you can't find them, why not fabricate them? Get an appropriately sized washer, some thread all and a coulpe of zipps with the welder and viola! big headed fasteners.
