Leaf Spring help/advice
On my ’68, I believe the driver leaf spring isn’t doing so hot. The car looks to be leaning towards that side a significant amount. When driving, if I hit a bump at speed, the rear end gets really squirrelly. I checked and everything seems to be snug back there. I don’t see anything abnormal like a crack or anything. That doesn’t mean it isn’t there and I am not seeing it. I guess it could just be worn out?
So, my question(s) –
- Does this sound definitely like a leaf spring, or is there something else it could be?
- What are my options? I’m looking for the cheapest fix possible. I’ll do a good rebuild in the not-too-distant future, but currently funds are tight and I don’t want the car laid up for the driving season because of this.
- Anyone know approximately how much to add a leaf to it? Would this help?
- Anyone know of one (or have one) for cheap??
