Isn't it? It's for real - I took it at a gas station near us. In Maine (as in most places) the folks don't like the state to tell us what to do - the town maybe, but not the state & never the Feds. (e.g. Citizen outrage killed emissions testing about 5 years ago AFTER it had been implemented)

The state demanded the "safety island" and the station owner didn't agree. After a few customers ran over it, he put up the sign.

The state eventually backed off.
