You just missed a TSSC Triumph club meet last weekend, though it was cold and rainy.

Couple of minor thoughts: head over to Moss London, they have lots of spares that Moss U.S.A. don't carry.

Brooklands Museum/Mercedes Benz World out in Weybridge is pretty slick looking.

Or, grab a rental car and head west about 4 hours to RevingtonTR and grab some goodies.

Tom-

The Ace Cafe is good, I've been there, but...

I've been to London dozens of times... trust me on this one, as I owe you a big favor... in two words, BROOKLANDS MUSEUM.

https://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/

It is a short 30 min train ride from Waterloo Station on the Woking rail line (get off at Weybridge Station and take the taxi 1 mile to the museum). Open 10AM - 5PM.

Short of Gayden, this is the BEST LBC experience to be found in and around near London.

Think I can carry a Mini back as carry-on?

Back in 1978, a few weeks before I left the Navy, I was on a 3 week detachment in Mildenhall England. We were an A-3 Squadron and we were delivering mail to the fleet during a NATO operation in the North Sea.

We had a bunch of Reservists along with us and one of them had rented a mini to get around in. The Reservists were only going to be with us for 2 weeks, but he had paid for 3 weeks rental and told us to go ahead and use it for the third week.

Bear in mind that we were sailors.

The A-3 is the biggest aircraft ever to operate off of an aircraft carrier. Ya, I know about bigger ones that were launched off of carriers, be we took off and landed both.

There are alot of places to hide things on an A-3. Since the statute of limitations has long since run out, I can say that I brought back massive quantities of tax free alcohal.

Anyway, we had been out at the local pub until past closing (for some reason they liked us) and it was a day or so before our birds headed back to the States. We came up with the great idea that we should return the mini to the guy who rented it. ...Who was already in the States.

The bomb bay of the A-3 is about 6 feet wide and 17 feet long. You can easily stand in it. We were drunk.

Fortunately (or not), the nose gear of the aircraft with the bay doors open made it impossible to position the car so it could be hoisted into the bay.

Otherwise, they probably wouldn't have invited us back to that Pub...

And, perhaps just as important, can we look forward to more photos of the event?

(you can exclude Tom in the photos if you want, we know what he looks like)

I think the Ace is hosting different shows every Friday night anymore so who knows what you might see.

Brooklands is awesome. Not just cars but airplanes as well. Plus you can go for a stroll on whats left of the track, see the remnants of an Anti-Aircraft gun tower from WWII and walk up the 'test hill'. If you go, look for the unique 'snowblower'. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
