Hello, I was taking my friend's 1970 spitfire out for a spin in the sunshine last week...
Unfortunately as I was driving along the gearlever went very wobbly. I took the spitfire limping back home - I could change gear but it felt very vague due to the play in the lever. Digging out the manual and toolbox I discovered that the nylon sphere and the lower washer on the lever had vanished.
I am a total newbie to spitfires and being in Newzealand don't know who will supply me with a spare part. I have surfed a few sites and have noted that some suppliers offer gear linkage overhaul kits containing the nylon sphere amongst other parts.
Any advice on NZ suppliers and the linkage would be greatly appreciated.
Stouffer.
