TR4 Steering Arm For 2500M?

I was reading something that mentioned that the 2500M was plagued with terminal bump steer. It said that repacing the TR6 steering arm with one from a TR4 solves the problem.
Can anyone comment on this?

Looks like we are ready the same stuff. If true, it would be great to know what Moss part # they are referring to as it looks like there are 2 different styles for the TR4.

Cheers,

I found this info on the internet...

"1. The stock 2500m suffers from terrible bump steer. Bump steer is a change in the direction that the wheel is pointing (with NO input from the steering wheel) during suspension travel. The main cause of the bump steer is the stock TR6 steering arms. They cause a steep angle between the steering rack and the tie rod end,. To cure, use the 'shallow droop' TR4 steering arms (not all TR4 arms are alike). It is likely that TVR designed the suspension geometry with the TR4 part in mind, then some clever soul changed to TR6 parts without consulting anybody..."

Which steering arm is the "shallow droop" one is anybody's guess. BTW, Moss lists THREE sets of steering arms for the TR4. The earliest set seems to end when Triumph went to the 3 deg caster, so that one would be the rarest. I guess you would need to see all three together. Also, Moss has all of them listed as not available.

Coincidentally, it was that website where I first read about this. I haven't even driven mine yet, so I'll wait until I do to decide if this is a real problem or not, although just looking at it my guess would be that bumpsteer would be a problem. If it is, someone here must have dealt with it before. If that's the case, maybe they can let us know which arm is needed.

Perhaps you might want to post this over on the Triumph forum, as there a lot of knowledgable guys over there that might know which is the 'shallow droop' TR4 steering arm.
