That's not a Chrysler engine. Looks like the BPO Rover aluminium V-8.

The description lists as Aluminum GM V8 then in the body of the text he calls it a Chrysler. Definitely a Rover/BOP engine though. Most surprising part for me is the 17 bids. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

It looks like a Buick engine out of the late 50's to early 60's to me.

That would explain the shift pattern for the automatic, as well, if memory serves: P-N-D-L-R back then.

Well It's NOT an old Nailhead...they had a rear mounted distributor...I just sold my last one on ebay last week.

It's either a 215 aluminum OR a 300 that was used in the mid-60's. They both used a front mounted distributor. The 300 wasn't aluminum but they were painted an aluminum color in most cases. It kinda looks like a smaller version of the early Nailhead but are pretty rare these days.

I think they used the old Jet-a-way transmission...Buick may have used the name Turbine-something..Olds used the Jet-a-way name, I believe. Any, the Jet-a-way had the older shift pattern.

That's it. 300 series used on 61-63 LeSabre's & Invicta's. I think that the Wildcat & Electra used a bigger block. Some had 2X4bbl carbs, especially on the Riviera. And silver was the color!

64 engines looked more like Pontiac V-8's of the day. Later engines were painted red.

Man, are we dating ourselves, or what???

My problem is everything I buy or already own is old...

Last night I was digging up some more ebay treasures when I found an old AM radio that would look period correct in a TR...I showed my wife her new "stereo" and she just rolled her eyes....

All of those women know how to give you "THE LOOK"...
Usually accompanied by..."You're not wearing THAT, are you?"...or "You THINK you're buying that"...

Man I heard that.

Trouble is I don't even want anything new. Hells bells I haven't used up the old stuff yet.

If we could rid of those phrases, the conversation time would go to about 2 minutes per day...........not too bad.
