Header page Rimmer Bros

I am looking at the two header styles they sell in stainless. One is a pair of 3 into 1's I like it because it empties right into dual exhaus without having a y pipe. It is also cheaper. Has anyone seen these pipes? Quality good? Any othe stainless headers i should be looking at in the $250 range. Thanks alot,

No idea how good Rimmer is (or what the shipping would be to NA)....but the Pathfinder (non-stainless) headers for the 1500 Triumph (in my Midget) were terrible. Welds were OK and material looked alright but fit was dreadful.

I cannot comment on the Rimmers exhaust manifold,
(Britspeak for Headers), but there is a strong opinion that the best set up for the Triumph six is a six into three into one, fine for my 2.5 saloon with its single exhaust pipe. TR6's could be a problem. Chris Witor (a well known 2000 saloon specialist www.bartlett-printing.co.uk/chriswitor.html) sells such a manifold, made in mild steel but that comes out at over three hundred pounds sterling.
The performance gains of such a system are supposed to be quite considerable. I don't know what 'Kas' Kastner used when he raced TR's in the 60's but he was able to get more power than anyone out of the 2.5 TR engine. he also published a tuning manual if you can find one second hand.

Check cambridgemotorsports on line for some fine speed parts and a wide selection of headers, bear in mind that the prices are lbs not dollars, and freight is another factor.
To get cheap HP on a tr6 , the first thing to do is mill the head 125 thou. shorter pushrods are needed to keep rocker geo. good. This gives 9.1 to 9.25 comp ratio. do this first then get the best headers you can afford , it will run great for very little $$

i will be running a blower so compression is my enemy. I just want a header because the air at that point isn't being forced out any faster then without the blower. thanks i will check out that site.

What ever header you get the first thing to do is(if it is a single flange,one piece style) make sure the flange is not warpped. Most are,some badly. this must be fixed before attempting installation. Also check port match, a little work with the dremell pays big here.
I hear the blower works great on the 6 due to the lower comp. How is your low end?? You might want to nitrite the crank and balance it for durability, as you will be making a bunch of power.Also the stock rods need love(shot peening, and fresh bolts)

I wasn't aware that you could have things nitrided?? Where is this done and how much stronger will it be? I am going to post in another post about building a short block and what people have used in there high horspower searches. Please see that post to write about that. Lets keep this one headers. I still am looking for someone that knows about the Rimmer Quality. Thanks alot,
