Well, I "think" maybe we have enough active TVR drivers here finally to try a dedicated TVR forum. You asked for it so here it is! Now PLEASE go shake the trees to get all your TVR-driving friends over here!

Well, now we have to see if any TVR guys actually notice that they have their own forum! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

hehehehe. What about an Alfa Romeo forum? That should keep Doc pretty busy - hahahaha. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

It'd be an "adopted" british car. hehehehehehe /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif Especially considering that quite a few of us have adopted one, and a few british sports cars didn't fall too far away from the pinninfarina tree. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sweet!

Kenny, that looks like a Griffith to me. I'm still learning my TVR's though.

me too... this one was posted in the "other british cars" forum last week. I just didn't catch which model it is. I like the 2500M, but I like the one in the picture better.

Wow, now TVR has its own section on the forum. Many thanks, that's great! The photo appears to be a Grantura Mk. III,although without a good shot of the rear I can't tell for sure. Or, if the bonnet had been changed, it could be a Griffith, but it doesn't have the traditional Griffith bulge.
OK you TVR fans, let's keep our section busy!!!

This is great! A body outta frozen snot and some neat chassis geometry can change a 'rumph mill into a real car!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

And I have a real soft spot for those TVR's with the Ford Cortina Mk-I tri-point tail-lights, too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

You might want to post this question as a separate thread with descriptive title - migt get more attention that way /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

To answer Drew's question, the V8 powered TVRs (Rover motor) were never 'officially' imported into the US, however two of the 350i models were brought in for the show circuit in 1985, one of which is on the road. However, the V8 models were imported into Canada in 350i, 390SE, 400SE, 450SE and other such variants until TVR pulled out of the Canadian market in the mid 1990s. This also included a few of the "new" Griffiths with the Rover-based V8s.
As for websites, if you simply enter "TVR" in a search engine, you will find plenty of websites. As for the Rover V8 models, you can try www.tvrwedgepages.co.uk which covers the wedge-shaped TVR models, www.tvrcc.com which is the TVR Car Club UK and has a lot of information about the various models, and many other sites out there. Have fun but let me know if I can answer any questions for you about the US/North American models.

The one pictured above is probably not a Griffith. The Griffith had a buldge in the center of the hood to clear the air cleaner.
Possibly a Vixen, it's hard to say without checking the books.
