forming floorpan myself

I have enough equipment in my possession to manually form up a one piece floorpan with all correct ribs, recess, edges, etc. Still working on a process to form the dropped footwells on each side. With 1 Bugeye, Sprite, and 2 Midgets to pull measurements from, may work out alright. I have made several early Bronco replacement floorpans with all ribs, bolt recesses that are idential to originals with exception to being thicker than stock. Should also be able to clone some of the straight frame sections and all flat panels, even with bent and stepped edges.(kick panels, front wheel wells, fill panels, etc) I dont think the rear wheel wells are within my reach, but can form repair pieces where usually rusted thru. Floorpan is large enuf to make awkward to work with, but if everything is close and outer edges measure correct, should work well. May need some measurements out there, if the rust pile patterns I have are missing too much to get repeative dimensions.

Sounds good.
The panels are easily available, but if you can build them yourself, why not? Go for it!

Looking at prices, I would be much more content with spending time instead of paying retail for parts that can be fab'ed. Plus you add freight on larger items, I dont have any problem with how long it takes if progress is being made. It doesnt take many parts to wrap up $1000 in sheetmetal that can be made for $50.

After flipping the donor body over to look at pans, I see it would be easier to make them in three pieces. My sheer will cut 54", but the box brake will only reach 48". So the floor pan will be sectioned across the forward spotweld line on box crossmember. Rear section is basically flat with strengthing ribs formed and edges bent on three sides. Both front sections will have recessed foot areas just like originals. I will make the dies to roll ribs and dropped foot areas. Very basic and simple. Gives me some forward progress that would otherwise be spent having to work, paying for parts and waiting to be delivered. Material cost for full pan will be less than $20.

You might be able to sell a few of those if you wished. I could use both front sections as well...
