1500 CLUTCH QUESTION.

On the bell housing, where the clutch fork pivots, there is a pin/rod that goes through the clutch fork. My question is... should there be two retaining clips to hold the pivot rod in place? The manual shows one, and the vb catolog shows one. When I installed only one on top. the rod vibrated out again. I'm considering using a grade 8 bolt and nut instead.

Go for the bolt and nut. I don't know what they were thinking with that stupid pin.

If your release pin falls out, replace the release pin bush (part #330-455 in the Moss Catalog). This is NOT the brass bushings. This is a split bushing that goes into the release arm. When you put the release pin in place, it will expand the release pin bushing and hold the release pin firmly in place. I've never had any problems with my 1500 clutch, but I change this bushing whenever I had to take the clutch apart.

Just my 2 cents.

8 is BRITTLE and has NO place on a LBC. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonono.gif

AND, you would need a "shouldered" Grade 5 bolt so that THREADS do not "eat" the bush!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif

Hi Ed,
Ironicly, my name is Eddie. I used a grade 8 shouldered bolt.
I'll swap it out for a 5. Thanks-
