TRactor Motor Valve Adjustment Sequence

Believe there is "improved" valve adjust sequence to the factory manual method for the 4 cylinder TR engine that requires much fewer turns of the engine. Can't seem to find it anywhere on line....what is the best sequence?, it been a while since I did this and I can't remember

When I had a 64 TR4, turning the engine over was easy. I just used the hand crank (AKA as the non-Lucas starter) that went in through the front of the car. There were times I wish my TR6 had one.

But in my Haynes manual there is a misprint in that chart. Sorry don't have it handy to quote but one of the valves is listed twice and (of course) one is omitted.

Pretty easy to work out which is in error using the 'rule of nine'. May have been corrected in later versions.

How about setting the crank so #1 cylinder is at TDC, pointer aligned with the hole on the pulley, then adjust #1 intake and exhaust, #2 intake and #3 exhaust. Turn the crank one revolution so the pointer and hole again align and adjust #4 intake and exhaust, #3 intake and #2 exhaust.
