None. But the plane is a near-perfect replica with only the motors (from Jumo to GE) and some landing gear stuff being up-dated.
The present-day Messerschmitt company condsiders the plane a "continuation" of the original.

Yesterday afternoon (I live about >1 ml from 22 at SPI) stepped out of the garage and heard an unfamiliar aircraft, about 150 ft over the house came the local billionairre in his P-51, what a great noise that makes.
When he's in town, he'll fly that one day, so today I'll be looking and listening for his F4U Corsair.
I've never seen a Hawker Typhoon fly, that's what I want to see.

Nice plane - if Hitler had ever gotten them in serious production, we might all be speaking German today! Thing really holds its nose up on landing.

The moontown Air Show is going on this weekend up the highway from me - been all types of WWII aircraft going over in formation all day y'day & today...there's even a couple of Russian planes flying around.

He insisted that it would be his 3x1000 aircraft, fly 1000kmh, a range of 1000km and can carry 1000kg of ordnance for bombing, against all advice that it should be used as a fighter only, if it had of been a fighter only, that would have been serious trouble, but with many design innovations, it was all too little too late.
Beauty to see flying though. Always wondered who would've won in a 262 v Meteor battle?

Living about 5 miles from the National Warplane Museum, I get to see a lot of neat things fly over. My favorite was about ten years ago, during the airshow, they had I think 4 B17s, 2 B25s , and a B24 (I may have some of the numbers off but it was something like that) all being escorted by whatever WW2 fighters were at the show Mustangs, Spitfires and the like. All flying around in formation in the valley. Doing simulated bombing runs.
I was floored...
I still run out of the shop whenever I hear a warbird fly over ( I love that sound)

past few years there has been an airshow at Teterboro airport with some fine WW2 planes including a B17 that lives in Bath New York and to get it home it flew over my house. Years ago we were driving up ti visit my brother in Toronto and were driving past Bath when the B17 appeared out of nowhere doing what appeared to be circuits and bumps! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/patriot.gif

During the Vietnam era,we'd drive down Hwy 99,in
Central California,near Merced.
There was nothing but one B52 after another,taking off & landing.Pretty impressive.

Yea, that's the same one. originally the museum was in Geneseo, not it is actually based out of Big Flats. The National Warplane Museum is located at the Elmira Corning regional airport (in Big Flats). But we're just 40 minutes down the road from Bath.
Sadly, a couple of years ago they sold the "Fuddy Duddy" B17 due to financial difficulties. But it still shows up every now and then.
I could pick out the sound of that plane long before it came into view. It was so sweet sounding.
They used to fly it alot.

I am old enough to remember the sounds of them on less enjoyable missions. You are right about the sound. Brings a lump to my throat every time.

One of the first jet aircraft ever, and it's still easily one of the most beautiful too.

As a new mechanic in the air Force in 1968 I was of course trained on jets. First duty assingment was on F-4 fighters in Homestead Fl. Was dying to get on old prop jubs...so the Air Force granted my wish and sent me to Danang Vietnam..again on F-4s. But...Iwas fortunate enough to work on C-123s, C-7s, AC-119 gunships, A-1s, C-130s and a bunch of other prop jobs, plus helicopters. All the rest of the young guys would run from jobs on them...I ran to them, so once in a while got to go on a few trips, probaly not real smart as more often than not got a few rounds of small arms damage....but was worth it to hear the engines.
