Allard Replica Body

I'm just passing this on from one of the vintage guys:

Would anyone be interested in FIBERGLASS J2 body

I called Barry...he doesn't have a body yet but is thinking about pulling a plug off an Allard if there's enough demand & then marketing the body kit.

The Cad-Allards were a handful to race: nose-heavy, so if you were going over a "hump" the front-end would rise, the wheels would "tuck 'n toe in"... when the weight came back down on it, it would splay and spread... quite a bit of driver input was required to keep 'em from goin' inna weeds. Brutal cars.

Well I hate to burst someones bubble, but someone in Quebec is already producing replicas of that car. I met him just last night at a Cruise night here, and I grabed his card...I'll look for it and post further info.....i did see a car, get tons of attention...and despite alot of effort in terms of making it look correct I could tell it was a replica right away...Bolt on wires where the biggest clue, and the hood and other flat panels where very wavey....My wife took some pics of it so if anyone is interested in seeing it I'll post some pics when they get developed.

Repleat with Brooklands look-alike windscreens.

I suspect it's more well-mannered than its namesake.

Now wouldn't that be a kick.

My '53 TD has Brooklands - lay the windshield down & screw the Brooklands screens to their permanently mounted frames!

I need to get some brooklands for my TC....I have a set on my 58 A...I used to remove the windscreen and just drive with the brooklands....that was back about 30 years ago when I actually drove that car...don't think the top has even been down in the last decade

The MGA doesn't look right with Brooklands IMO - the curved scuttle top makes it look strange.

The TR-3 OTOH, looks perfectly at home with them. Go figure.
