i have 2 manuals w/ differing procedures...1 says to loosen both front and rear adjustments and then bleed and adjust...the other says to lock down the rear and open the front then bleed and adjust...my logic says adjust then blead and then check adjustment...any useful tips would help...i am installing a lockeed remote brake servo and braided hoses...then the bleed

I have always bled starting with the bleeder farthest away from the reservoir according to the length of the brake line and work toward the reservoir. For my BJ8 that would be the rear left, then rear right, then front right, and front left. Isn't the the rear left closer to the reservoir than the rear right? NO, not according to the way the brake line is run.

I do the same thing and go around at least one more time to make sure all the air is out. Don't forget to bleed the clutch too if you are bleeding to replace oil fluid or had the reservoir off for the rebuild. I use the EZbleed system which makes the job and "EZ" one person operation.

Does anyone use Speed Bleeders on their cars? Are they useful in making this job easier and/or worth the cost? WOuld they be particularly useful for bleeding the Clutch?
I'm kind of thinking of getting a set, but some information about others' experiences would be useful....

Hi James,
I have six speed bleeders on my car. I’ve only bled the system once and that was right after filling an empty system. They didn’t seem to work as advertised. I would up bleeding them the next day in the traditional way with someone pumping the brake pedal. The second day, a lot of bubbles were still coming out.

Hi Ramajon,
You mentioned installing a booster. Was there one in the car before? You may want to change your master cylinder to a wider bore if the booster is new to the car and you haven’t done so. That will shorten the stroke some. Then of coarse, you’ll need to bleed the brakes again.
