Clutch Master Cylinder-tr6---recomendations??

Has anyone found any differance in use between the .70 and .75 clutch master cylinder. What are your recomendations?

Hi Allan,
I don't think I will be a lot of help on this subject, but I'll try. I was deciding if I wanted to have Apple Hydraulics resleeve mine or fit it with an oversize bore. They seemed to infer that the larger bore was more reliable - I'm not sure why. You may want to contact them and get their opinion. They always give me a reply within 24 hours, so that may help you with your decision.

On my last TR6 I had problems with the clutch disengaging fully and so had difficulty getting into gear easily. As a first pass I opted to put in a .75 bore clutch master instead of the .7 bore - I didn't notice really any pedal pressure difference but it slightly alleviated the disengagement problem. Ultimately I had to pull the trans and replace the cross shaft and pin to fully fix the clutch issue. For 0.7 vs 0.75 master cylinders, bottom line is the differences are pretty subtle but I think you get a little more displacement at the slave by pushing with the larger bore. If I did it again though, I'd just buy the cheapest quality version I could find and not worry about the bore size.

You will have a little less than 8% more effort to actuate the cylinder at .75 vs. .70.
