It's not more easy than fitting a Honda engine in an old Mini (a more common swap).
A friend of mine has an old Mini and a new MINI and we opended the hoods to compare....didn't look like it would be that easy to swap from a "quick eyeball" viewpoint (but as we know, anything can be done with enough money).
Honda S2000 engine. Supercharged. A la S1 Elise conversions?
Oooh Yes Please Missus....
Oh and Ian - we take the same train to work so no chance of sneaking in a few pieces that way.
She's getting more and more cutting as my little proj takes longer and longer. I made the mistake of giving an honest answer when she asked what 6 Carillo rods cost me (I know, I know, but I was distracted, watching cars on tv). Now she won't stop harping on about just how much this is all costing. I'm going to be photoshopping fake invoices at this rate...
Over here in the 'mother country@ lol not many options on engine swaps into the old mini, current favourites are Honda twin cam from the prelude I think or 2 litre lump from vauxhall calibra, both options will obviously mean using engine plus g/box, plus all the eletrics for engine management etc etc,, anyone need any help give me a shout, by the way, thought of fitting motorcycle engin into mini? getting very big over here in kit car world, low weight high bhp mmmmmmm!!!!!
Stuck a 1275 with the g/box extension into an old 850 moke with the old long lever g/stick, wasnt a big prob, just had to make a different adaptor for the extension
