I happened to turn on the set just at the time that Ferrari was doing the doughnuts.
That was bizarre! What does an F1 car have to do with winter sports? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Nothing. They probably paid good money to put the car in somehow because they need more spectators. I dunno, I didn't even watch.

I hate to tell you guys, but I was watching the last showing of "Arrested Developement" on another channel. Too bad...it's the best comedy on TV (in my opinion).

As for the Olympics...look for my old pal and EMRA racer, Duncan Kennedy, to report the Luge competition for NBC. Duncan and his wife Kelly are both top US sliders and both are also great EMRA racers in their Honda CRX. More info:

Maybe they'll put the F1 car on the bobsled track (with studded tires of course)! Now then I'd be watching.

They were actually doing a brief interpretive history of Italy as part of the opening ceremony, and I suppose because Ferrari is a huge part of northern Italian history they included that.

There was also a racing motorbike at one point, but they never identified it and they didn't actually start the engine.

The opening ceremonies of any of the Olympic games are spectacular! I think some of the most elaborately put together celebrations, just incredible...

I just saw the highlights on CBC, and horror of horrors, Yoko Oh No! Visions of her on the ski jump, sans skis and head first, flashed through my mind.
A pleasurable thought, it was.

If I was going to hazzard a guess I'd say it has to do with where the olympics are being held, and then where Ferarri is made.
