Help! Flametrap connector source??

99% success in re-installing my original carb gear to my 79 Midget. One connector drove me crazy until I discovered the remnants on the underside of the carburetor. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for this thing? It appears to be made of brass and is the connector from the distributor to the flametrap and then to the carburetor. It's supposed to just plug into the bottom apparently, but the previous owned glued it in and then broke it trying to get it out for his Weber conversion.

Here are a couple of pictures of it. The serrations are due to my visegrips pulling it out ;-)

Okay... no responses on this one so I broke down and soldered the heck out of the two broken pieces. Doesn't look pretty, but there are no leaks and it will probably work.

Whoops. Spoke too soon. The soldering didn't hold so I'm back to looking for the original part again. I was thinking about replacing the whole part with a piece of fuel line, but as I started to fit it I realized that it would be right over the manifold and probably get a little hot. So... WHERE in the heck can I get that replacement connector??

I would cut that broken end off and "braze" a new piece of tubing to the main body.

That was suggested to me in an email but I have no idea how to do brazing. I wonder if I could take it to a radiator shop and ask them to do it... another issue is where to find the exact diameter tubing. I'm sure this stuff is brass and not copper, right?

You can braze with MAPP Gas -- a different bottle for a propane torch. If you don't feel confident about doing it then a radiator shop might be ok. You'll probably have to fabricate the piece -- use brass or stainless...
