Replacing front shroud. Do I remove the hinge, bolt it to the shroud (4 bolts), then slide it back into the hinge enclosure and bolt it there (1 bolt), or do I leave the hinge attached in the enclosure (1 bolt) and try to bolt it to the shroud from inside the engine compartment? (4 bolts)

I'd remove the 4 bolts from the bonnet first. Support it on the prop rod (or other) and put some pads or folded towels at each corner where it meets the firewall. I highly recommend 2 people for this.

Are you switching over to a forward tilt?

I would remove old bonnet and dry fit new add tape to bonnet and body with aliment marks when fit looks good. If staying with rear hinges. Front tilt is more thinking if no layout is supplied. Is it metal or fiberglass.

Metal bonnet, staying with rear hinges. I'll try propping the front up so I can reach back and attempt to start bolts. Tried to reach up through master cylinder opening but couldn't line up to get threads started. You're right, I'll have to enlist my bride to help schmooze the thing in place. Thanks, all.

I've done it solo. Used an engine hoist & strap thru the two wheel wells, and a 2 x 4 and smaller bits pf wood to soil between the bonnet and firewall surface. It works, but beware if the bonnet tends to slide a bit. At some other point I had two friends help me with support and alignment (hands and arms only). That was one too many mouths. Easier solo. As in most manuals, the installation is a reverse of steps 1 and 2. What I liked about it was that the start and 2x4 take most of the load, so it's relatively easy to get one bolt on each hinge started with hand/arm control. Once they are in a bit, relatively easy to maneuver for fit.
