The Austin Sheerline black and silver is newly painted original car. I bought the other Sheerline from New Orleans as a parts car because I needed the chrome strips off of the doors to finish the black and sliver one. The parts car from New Orleans was just a shell with no engine or transmission, no dash or interior and no steering column. All the interior wood was rotted including the door structures, however the sheet metal body parts were in pretty decent condition. I then decided to build this one into more of a street rod, looking close to original but sporting a newer driveline and new dash and interior. I have come quite a ways in mocking up this car. I have loaded independent suspension at all wheel positions along with power abs disc brakes. Engine of choice is a 3.8 liter Ford V6 Supercharged and a 4 speed automatic transmission. Loaded with most all power options, windows, locks, steering, heat, air and power sun roof. Need to mention, also modifying the body by changing from a 4 door to a two door as was never available from the factory. It is to closely resemble the only Austin Sheerline modified to a two door (black and white Austin as found on the internet). Still a lot of work and fabrication to do, but it is truly a labor of love building these old autos.
