Oh this is real. Says to come on up sat. noon and get the grand tour as well. 20 stall work shop, storage, etc. etc. why noon, we got to talking Bugeyes of course and he has one at the house, his. that he want's me to drive. Blown engine, etc. etc. Think son and Daughter in law going up with me. If I get it I will have his shop do a couple of things. Screw on oil filter, elec. cut off. Cause this one is going to get run a lot. With a 1275 engine and tranny it deserves to hit the road. Should be really fun in the NC mtns. in the summer where I have a cabin.
Yep it has the wrong color turn signal and parking lights on the front just for starters.

That' the one Rick. I am at sons in Tuckahoe NY. Found the car on web, his business site, called and spoke with him for maybe 20 min. He says come look and drive. Will go see car and if I like will give him a check, we have agreed upon what I think is a fair price for a driver. and he will transfer and I will take it to my sons. Only 37 miles from here.
He promised a grand tour as well. Oh yea owners name is Mark.
When I go home in a month or so I will tow it. My SUV is rated for 3500 lbs.
I think this is up in your stomping grounds Rick, you may know this business.

Here is what I found and bought https://www.newenglandclassics.com/cars/NE-1977-16/

In addition they will get rid of rubber bumpers, replace tires, buff, etc etc for like 14K.

Look an automatic, really, really. Is that cockpit a thing of beauty.

Great old mans car. In addition, any chevy dealer can take care of engine.

lGuess I best get over to the MGB forum.

Looks like a great car! and automatic is great. I must also admit that having a bigger car to get in and out of is not the worst thing in the world.

Well done

(and of course you can visit that other forum but you can't leave  )

The V6 in an MGB with a 5 speed is still 75 pounds lighter than the original engine lump. That’s a win
win for you.

Congrats, Jack and welcome to the Dark Side. You'll find a lot of support for swapped MGs here: https://www.mgexp.com/forum/mg-engine-swaps-forum.40/ The V6 swap seems to be very popular. Are you planning on swapping to chrome bumpers? I think folks generally lower the suspension as well when they do that to bring it back to the early car look. You're going to love the extra power in this car. As a guy with a V8 in my Healey, I can tell you the only people that don't like engine swaps are the ones that never drove a car with a good one. Lots to be said for an automatic, roll up windows and a fixed top as we get older. Hope you have many miles of enjoyment!

Yup, and also here: http://forum.britishv8.org/ Great bunch of folks - annual meets - one in the summer in different spots (this year it's Auburn, Indiana), and one in the fall held here in Townsend.

Congrats on the purchase!

I knew Jack would get a big thumbs-up from you Mickey! Wonder if we searched the modified web sites we could come up with the build on that car?

That car was packed in with so many others you could only get to one side at door. I could not get to engine to see # to obtain type, etc. Am sure it is a GM 2.something 125 HP stock for the 2.2 and up as it gets newer.

They will remove rubber bumpers and take care of height. New tires and make sure all works well so I can put it on the road. Oh yea he has 6 mech, and son who picks up and delivers. The had 2 rubber bumper cars in work for removal and do a nice job.

Said car would be ready in about 6 weeks.

Most likely a 2.8 - used in Camaros, Firebirds, Chevy and GMC small pickups and SUVs, and Jeep Cherokees, and even Isuzu Troopers. Great engines; my BGT had the later iteration, a 3.4. You're gonna love it!
