TR6 72 TR6 electrical snafu

Hey folks
recently replaced my starter with a gear reduction starter. It is a wosp performance starter and the connection that connects to the Solenoid had 2 wires coming out. I of course hooked up to the one which contained a diode. Needless to say it didn’t work so I switched to the other wire and poof! Started right up. This brings me to my next problem. I no longer have turn signals, gas gauge, temp gauge, horn...looking at my wiring diagram it appears everything that doesn’t work is on one fuse. I replaced the fuses and still have nothing. This car has been great electrically, what did I do! The one wire that connects to the starter also appears to connect to the alternator and to the affected equipment. Possibly that wire is broken ? Thanks in advance for any help!

Unless someone took some liberties with the wiring all those things mentioned would NOT have been on the same fuse,..so the problem is up stream of the fuses.
Check out everything electrical...maybe there are more electrical components affected...things like head lights, windshield wipers and more., then using this schematic trace back to a common connection.

These wiring diagrams are a great service! I got mine printed out 11 x 17 and laminated.

After years of using color wiring diagrams for the Healey, can't recommend them too highly. Every DIY owner should have one!

There is a horn relay next to fuses brown wire horn button makes contact to ground. If the fuse is good and the fuse holder is good you lost your grounding. Next to the battery leads to starter is a tab firewall flat area that a black wire slides on to easily slip off. light purple wires are dash lights at fuse block. test volts to ground at fuse if you do not have a tester a 12 volt bulb with wires for contact . A tail light socket will work for parts. If you still have the stock pos. battery lead that brown wire comes from the connector in the middle of that red battery cable Note I replaced my fuse block with the new blade fuses and some glow when blown. any auto parts stores .
