Bravo! Anyone who can do bodywork is worthy of reverance.

How's the engine and drivetrain?

(Please start a blog so we can follow your progress.)

You deserve an A for effort. Long time ago - 1954 or so, a guy advertised a Singer roadster for sale in the local paper. With a friend, I took it out on a test ride. The gearshift knob came off in my hand, the door handle broke, the brakes and steering were horrible,,,I quickly brought the car back, waved bye bye to the owner and took off - fast. Vaughan Motors in New York - Bill Vaughan - handled them here in the States. Due to competition with the MG TD, they never sold. Bill Vaughan sold me my TR3 in 1956. Quite a character.

Car magazines of the day were in praise of the Singer for having a full 1500 cc engine when the TD and TD and early TF only had 1250 cc. I believe the engine was an overhead cam design and probably the best part of the car. I believe it was also used in the HRG sports car, a few of which were brought over here and raced and hillclimbed. Your car may have had a smaller engine. I'll have to look it up. Anyway - when you've finished, you'll have a relatively rare car. Good luck - and don't forget to tighten those door handles and gearshift knobs!

What a great project! I had a Minx convertible and always wanted a Singer like yours. I have a friend who has side curtains for sale from her Singer that has been gone for decades, but shipping would probably be prohibitively expensive.

A lot of those parts look like my Morris 8 from 1936, but you have a lot more engine to work with. Great project.

Went to a car show last weekend and the first car there was a 1952 Singer 4AD Roadster. It was immaculate. This is only the second Singer I have seen.

Looking at the photo of the engine I presume the cam shaft is directly below the rocker assembly. I could not find a drawing of the Singer engine.

My brother is working on a '37 Morris 8 Tourer. It's a big project since the wood is all shot & he hasn't been able to find any. Is your's a complete and a driver? There don't seem to be many in the states.

Fantastic. I always love to see these less mainstream cars get restored. Nicely done so far.

Making great progress on the Singer project.
Do you have a photo showing how the cams operate the rockers? It is hard to see from the top view but it looks like Singer had their own design for the cam shaft.

the rocker cam follower has one end rubbing on the cam, the other presses on the valve stem
