Thread: Speedometer confusion

Discuss the Austin Healey Sprite and the MG Midget. Two different but similar cars sometimes referred to collectively as the Spridget.

    Speedometer confusion

    Hi.
I need a speedo for my 1968 Sprite that has been imported some time ago from the US. There were no instruments with the car. I need a KPH speedometer and for sure this will be difficult to find. I am thinking to get a MPH version and have the dial changed but I am not sure what type I should get. The parts list book does not seem specific either. Mine is a HAN 9U737***. Should I be getting a sn 6142/00 or the 06?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Me again. As I posted in your Introduction, you might want to get in touch with the AH club Switzerland. Members may have some speedometer ideas for you:

Picnic coming up on 28 June. I have some friends in Wipkingen, so will ask them for ideas also.
