TR2/3/3A Rear door seals on a 3A?

Do TR-3A’s get a rubber seal along the rear vertical edge? Long doors do and TRF sells 13.5” long ones, but short doors? TRA judging rules are silent on this. I’ve seen both in pictures, mostly not though. Thanks, Jim

The only seal is a round roll that is tacked into the tack strip of the "B" post on the inside, and the rear quarter interior trim panel is fitted over the rear edge of it. The roll goes forward so the the door hits is when it is closed. On the TR2 the roll is leather or vinyl in interior colors. I am pretty sure the TR3 went to a black fuzzy roll.

Oh, I’ve got the fuzzy seals in place. I was asking about the rubber seals that are on the door...

No, there are no rubber seals on the rear of the door. There is a one that is on the front attached to the scuttle, down along the "A" post. Then there is one on the door that runs along the bottom...and many leave off since repro seals frequently will not fit. Then, of course, there is another fuzzy seal along the front of the door, attached to the "A" post. That's it.

I recently put the rubber on the door bottom and cowling. There are about 3 inches that go up vertically on the A post side of the door, nothing on the B post but furf-lex and oakum and on the early stuff they used vinyl rather than fur- flex. The rubber from TRF was correct for the door.

When I got my seals from TRF this was included and the drawing showed it on the rear edge of the door. It needs to be re glued in one spot.

I got the same piece from TRF with the seal kit and I fitted it but after a short time I didn't like the look of it so took them off.

Makes me curious, since they were not OEM and there are no clip holes on the rear of the door. Do you just glue it on?

They just glue in. Could they have been an after thought to reduce any rattle on the door?
Had assumed they were standard and when talking to a friend with a TR3A I pointed out his were missing. When he said he did not think there was any rubber there I got TRF book to show him the seal.
It does not seem to get compressed much if at all.

I think you are right David, I don't think they get a mention in the Moss parts catalogue and they don't look like they belong there that's why I took them off.
