Since we are on TR250 topic, can anyone tell me of vendor/individual that can rebuild/recondition seats?not just install new covers!
Depends
entirely on where you are. I strongly recommend a face-to-face visit with your regional shops to discuss the job in extreme detail first. You are in Florida? and there are literally dozens of high quality upholstery shops, check with some of the British and Triumph Clubs in Florida for recommendations, or better yet, go to a hot-rod custom car show and ask around.
For example in Colorado I like Auto Weave Upholstery who was recommended by many people at a Good Guys Custom Car show and the local Briths Car clubs. They did a fantastic job on my Stag seats making all foams and covers from scratch using the old covers as patterns. I supplied the blatters. I took the seats to them, we discussed exactly what I wanted, picked out the materials, and they quoted me a price. I had them write it up and left the seats with them, 3 weeks later they were done. They used similar materials to OE but could nto obtain the special basket weave style for teh center panels, but the pattern they used takes a experienced eye to notice the difference.
They did so well on the bebuild we could drive 12 hours straight on the interstate (
you can do that in a Stag) without getting saddle sore and we made many coast-to-coast drives. They have several locations. The one I used is 7158 Washington St, Denver, CO 80229 (303) 288-6222
