TR2/3/3A What vehicle is this Lucas voltage stabilizer from?

I was sent the wrong part a few years back. It's not TR3 or TR6. Anyone recognize it and more importantly could I use it as a stabilizer for a TR4 fuel gauge? The reason I ask is that I am running a TR4 fuel gauge and sender on my TR3. I bought a TR4 stabilizer on Ebay that was identical to the ones the Big 3 sell but when I installed it the gauge would only read "about 1/2 way between 1/4 tank and 1/2 tank" when the tank was actually full! Seeing as I have this mystery stabilizer I was thinking it might work? I'm a little cautious because I have fried a stabilizer once before by hooking it up wrong.

Are you sure it's a stabilizer? Just from the pins, it looks to me like it might be a relay.

Your photo is blurry as to trying to read anything on the bottom of the unit. Maybe you could let us know what the identifiers are for each of the contacts on the bottom.

Maybe an overdrive relay from a TR3A...

There is nothing written on the bottom of the unit near the contacts but in black print on the back of the chrome is 48/17 ?

Could be a relay. Someone thought it might be a horn relay?

I'll check the Moss catalogue Overdrive page to see.

I just looked at the two suspected parts. First the TR4 voltage stabilizer has three contacts labeled I, B and ground.
The TR3 overdrive relay has four contacts that are labeled C1, C2, W1 and W2. These labels are faint on this brand new relay and are printed into the circuit board used for the bottom of the unit.

Relay not voltage stabilzer. Could be horn or overdrive
