TR2/3/3A Triumph TR3 cam shaft measurement

Is there a way to measure a TR 3 camshaft to see if it is worn to where is needs to be replaced?
I'm wondering if the cam shaft that I have is still good or do I need to replace it.
The most sensible thing to do is to just replace it, but if I can avoid that cost, I sure would like to.
I want to make sure that the one that is have is still serviceable before I install it.
This car would be a weekend driver and not set up for racing. I want to keep it simple.
If I can measure it, what should I be measuring and what should those measurements be? Cam heights? Journal diameter?
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

For a driver, I would just do a visual inspection. If there's no obvious damage, it's almost certainly good enough.

(The dial caliper shown will work fine, even though the text specifies a vernier caliper. Digital will be fine too.)

When I measured mine, it had .260” of lift at the lobe. Run a caliper on each lobe to ensure they are within a couple thousandths and you should be good. When cams go they usually grind the lobes flat.
