I think the factory recommended slightly higher pressure rear than front. Don't have a TR3, but had a TR4, and many solid axle British roadsters. They all have front weight bias and stiffer rear suspension than front. I have always run 2-4 pounds higher in the fronts than in the rears. Typically about 32 pounds front and 28 on the rears, but I lean more towards handling than comfort.

That's good to know. I will try 32 front and 28 rear. My 3 is not on the road yet but soon. Wonder if there will be any difference in hard cornering? I too am more interested in the handling aspect.

Higher tire pressure reduces steering effort...but reduces ride comfort at the same time. As with all things in life, it's a compromise.

John, yes, that is another reason I like to go slightly higher in the fronts. Lower with the rears to help control axle hop in corners, on the backyard engineer theory that a basketball bounces higher with more air pressure, so a tire will too.

Yes I was going to ask if the lower air pressure in the rear tires would help with the axle hop issue.
