TR2/3/3A Removing Wires From Stator Tube

I have my stator tube removed from my steering shaft. I see the little Chinese handcuffs i've seen discussed here. My problem is the wiring is still in the stator tube. There's nothing to grab onto to pull it out. Can anyone offer a suggestion or maybe share some experience with this?
Regards,
Steve Baker

Tom,
Thanks for the link (and I did read that one before hand). That thread deals with how to pull the harness in or out. My problem is the wires are in the tube with nothing hanging out to grab onto to remove them.

Please post of you get them out. I have a tube like that. Thinking about burning the tube to make wiring cloth crumble and easy to pull out.

Well it was not a very elegant solution, but I welded a 3/32" extension bit to a length of 3/32" piano hinge material I had, chucked in the drill and just kept drilling into the wiring. I worked from both ends and for the first 45 minutes I really didn't think I was getting anywhere. Then chunks of insulation and copper started coming out (and wads of electrical tape). I finally got all the wiring out. I'll make a butterfly to clean the bore up completely tomorrow, but I think I saved it!

Wow - what a pain, and what a mess, but you figured it out.

How on earth would anyone accomplish the task without the destruction.

Congratulations - you're a better man than me!

So you drilled it out...interesting idea. I wound up chucking the tube and making a new one because the wires were so stuck.
