Sounds like a comedy of errors to me. All the training it took for me to qualify as aircrew and get to ride in the rear seat of performance fighters was rigorous. For that guy to have a G-suit worn improperly and been strapped into the seat loosely, would be grounds for prosecution. Both ground crew and the A/C. The fact the front-seater DIDN'T get punched out due to malfunction is kinda icing on the French cake. The visor and mask thing at takeoff would be questionable as well. *sheesh*

Pretty sure they won't be able to re-use the seat either.

Thank God it was a French aircraft with all those built-in failures. Otherwise, the AC would have been ejected and the $50,000 euro plane would have been lost. Viva DeGaulle!

Oh, might want to re-think linking to Daily Mail directly. All that neat stuff on the right of the page......

I once took a work colleague up for a flight in a glider. He was seated in the back seat. There’s a 3” (approx.) bright yellow ball with a rope attached. Pulling the ball releases the glider from the tow plane.
After I got my pal strapped in I told him:
”Don’t touch that yellow ball. Even if you think I asked you to pull it you should ask me to confirm the instructions”
We took off and climbed to three-thousand feet. I told my pal to “Pull the yellow ball”. His response was “Do you want me to pull the yellow ball?”. I confirmed my instructions and thanked him for asking.
Maybe a similar protocol should have been used on the flight in France.
