As I'm approaching the end of my 70th orbit and "confined to quarters" now, I began thinking about the foods we had as kids. Found my mom's "recipe box" and now:

Quiche, pasta and apple pie.

If this "quarantine" continues much longer, I'll need to order some larger size clothes!

Same here. Chicken pot pie, scalloped ham and potatoes, graham bread, cherry cobbler.

How did you get the pasta to hang horizontally?

hhmmmm - looks like it's hanging vertically to me ...
Well the pasta is hanging horizontally but how does he keep the drying rack on the counter?

confoozled!

Isn't the pasta hanging vertically, from a wooden bar that's horizontal? and the wooden bar is held by a vertical support, that comes from a horizontal base?

Tom, I think Elliot's computer is trying to convince him to suspend conventional understanding of gravity and physics...

That hot plate is an aluminum (old beer cans!) sand casting made from an original. Also have one from a Juniata Shops K.4.S. One of my Old Man's pals made 'em.

Not in the Twilight Zone doc. The pic I’m looking at shows the pasta hanging horizontally. The wooden bar where the pasta hangs from is vertical. When I get home I’ll take a screenshot and post it.
Too much flour in the pasta? :rolleye:

Here ya go doc (and tom)....
This is the pic I see on my screen. Either doc has the camera turned 90 degrees or your mom's pasta is light as a feather :encouragement:

Let me guess - doc took the photos with a smart phone?

(or he was passing through a gravity warp zone)
seems strange that you see it oriented correctly and mine is horizontal.
I’m going with doc’s mom pasta is light as a feather.

I think what's happening is that the image has a flag saying it should be rotated for display. Some platforms obey the flag, some don't.
If I save the original to my hard drive and then display that with Irfanview, it shows up sideways. EXIF info shows "Orientation left bottom" instead of the more common "top left".

I wish I could find the recipe my Mother used for cheese turnover. It was a half round of puff pastry filled with cheese as far as I remember. My sister has no memory of them so it may be a figment of my imagination.

I did cook pizza on Saturday.

Nice... I'm also exploring endless possibilities of cooking and project "porn" while being on quarantine. Tons of recipes to try and project ideas to do when I can finally get out and find supplies. Hope everyone is doing well during all of this, especially the one or two old timers in the crowd;)
