TR6 A lot has happened. Update on my project

I haven't posted much in the last few years. To be honest i forgot i was subscribed here. Sorry.
A lot has happened since i brought home a 72 TR6 as a tub, frame and about 40 boxes. I've never seen the car assembled or heard it run. I've also never driven, ridden in or worked on (until this project) any British sports car. So....I'll try to cover the bigger stuff.

Brought the car home Saturday after Thanksgiving 2015. It took a year or so to find out that I had a bent frame. It took 2 years to find a replacement. I got the frame done and it is now a "rolling chassis". I rebuilt the differential with the help of a club member. Everything else has been done by yours truly. Welding, zinc plating, sandblasting, powdercoating etc.
It has been an interesting and challenging 5 years. Lots of learning and research. So, here goes the pics and thanks for looking.

I'll try to keep them somewhat chronological.

Rebuilt the differential, I am impressed, I have tried most everything, sometimes even successfully, but have never gotten beyond the oil seals on a differential.

I can't take much of the credit for that one. Yes I certainly was involved in the teardown and reassembly and now that I have seen it done I believe I could do it but the knowledge and expertise definitely goes to a very helpful club member.

In retrospect though I ended up spending just as much as if I had purchased a rebuilt one from one of the big suppliers. Lots of things went bad quickly during the rebuild.
I wasn't going to do it but I found way too much play in the spider gears. Once we started tearing it down we found the severely rusted and pitted ring and pinion. We figure that the differential had been sitting for well over 20 years barely being moved. So some condensation probably occurred which left a layer of water on top of the fluid which the ring and pinion sat partially submerged in for quite a while. When trying to press the bearing off of the inner axle shaft I cracked a shaft so...
Every bearing and seal got replaced, inner axle shafts and ring and pinion.
In the end I spent just over $1300 on the rebuild. But the experience was worth it.

Quite the accomplishment, you should be proud. Gonna be a good looking, long lasting ‘6. Carry on!

Thanks everyone.

I have the drivetrain ready to go into the chassis but I made a rookie mistake. I threw something away(I think?).

When I pulled the engine and transmission from the chassis the rear gearbox mount had broken. The rubber was separated from the mount. I thought that both pieces were included in the new mount and, as I have not been able to locate the rear crossmember I believe I assumed it was part of the rear mount and tossed it.
A new one is on the way from Moss. Moss is still shipping from their VA location so I am hopeful it arrives soon.

Again, thanks for looking and thanks for all the compliments.

Keep 'em on the road,

Dave
