I am restarting a restoration of 1959 TR3. I started 30 years ago but life got in the way. The car was sitting with previous owner for some time. But since this is Illinois there is rustt. So there is some disasembly but where i had stopped was returning the boot area to original. Someone had narowed the boot lid and restructured the tail lights. Must have been 30lbs of lead. Donot know why - This is a beautiful part of the TR3. I spent my high school years in new TR3 crusing Newport Beach California.

Hello Jim

Welcome to the forum.

You will find the Triumph section is very active so you are sure to get plenty of tips and advice there for your TR3 project.
There are panels available to fix the boot area. They are not cheap but may be what you need to get that area back to original. Check out The Roadster Factory for parts. There is a guy in Australia who recreated that area from flat sheets.
