We are in our 70's. Wife has an autoimmune disease, we are not fearful of the current health crises, but we are cautious. In yesterdays mail we received a 16 question funeral planning survey from a local funeral home. The second sentence ".....what people want and need at this most difficult time." First question: How old are you?; third response is a check box in front of "66 or older".

I'm headed towards 63 and I get stuff regulraly asking me to come visit or if my arrangements are complete. I want to send back asking what they've read I missed since I haven't noticed myself in the obits quite yet.

I've attended a couple of technical conferences in Frascati, Italy. Last time I was there, I stayed near the hospital, and noticed an ad for a funeral director prominently placed on the gate at the hospital entrance. I think that showed a certain lack of sensitivity.

Edit: Just took a look on Google street view. Not only is it still there, but there are several more.

Steve, that really is pretty bad. I think the local guy here just had a very poorly timed mailing with an unfortunate turn of phrase. Then again, never let a good virus go to waste.
