I thought some of you who remember Dale from his time here at the BCF would want to be informed that his health problems are sadly continuing. This was the update posted on Facebook by his wife Wendy last night:
"Doctors, doctors and more doctors for Dale today, all with opinions. Fortunately the thoracic surgeon took charge of the path forward. Unfortunately the path is complicated. Step one is a surgery tomorrow to remove a golf ball sized infection on Dale’s back. At the same time the infectious diseases doctor is waiting for the results of blood cultures to determine the correct antibiotics to use for the suspected infection in the heart. The goal is to get all infections cleared up so that the thoracic surgeon can proceed with the aortic valve replacement which was originally scheduled for today. No one knows how long this will take. We hope that the IV antibiotics can be administered at home to shorten the hospital stay.
Thanks again for all the support during this difficult and worrisome time."
Dale has had a tough battle for several years now. Please keep him in the heart, and in your prayers.
