It's Friday - One Hit Wonder Day (Actually Sept 25)

OK, I'm late, what else is new.

    No video - no post.

Randy Bachman (Bachman Turner Overdrive - and now the host of Vinyl Tap) says this is the best one hit wonder of all time. I am not 100% sure but it is waaay up there for me - fun ear worm.

What's yours? - again, we want to see video.

(BTW - Andy Kim wrote and performed this - he is Canadian and did another favourite 'Rock me Gently' back in '74. He is of Lebanese descent and stopped touring (his words) because everyone came to his concerts expecting a blond surfer sound and getting a Lebanese Canadian complexion instead.

Two of my favorite one-hit wonders:

    Mungo Jerry, In the Summertime

and Sugarloaf - Green Eyed Lady. (This band got their start as a bar band in Denver when I was in Highschool).

By the way, the lead guitarist for SAC was Ed King who later joined another well know, but very different, group known as Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Even when young, wouldn't wear Ray Dorset's shirt or sideburns/beard, the look wasn't what I'd want to see. But I did have beel bottoms and boots like those in high school.

Loving all these... taking me back.
    Here's one I fondly remember:

    Former 1962 Mk1 Austin Mini (850)
Former 1973 Austin Mini (really a 1980s Cooperized Mini)
Present 1959 Austin Healey "Bugeye" Sprite (with 1275, 5 speed, discs, etc)

Great choices! I've got the Strawberry Alarm Clock and Sugarloaf albums on vinyl here. Among the others, Mungo Jerry and Starland were the ones I didn't have 45's of.

I remember almost all of them.

This still runs chills through me. It was popular on the radio in the UK for a short time. I have a 45 copy somewhere.

Wow - I just watched every one of the videos. I was 20 again.

I hope not - just more fun to post for a while. How could we decide even among this eclectic?

Kinda subjective and subject to defining "one hit". I think this was their hit song, though they had several recordings. Always liked their sound:
