Our '56 BN2 vintage race car has been on the shelf since my 1st child, (and now includes my 2nd child), so 10 yrs have gone by, the engine is all redone and I just need now to spend the time and go thru the brakes. At this point I am torn between just buying Quality replacement wheel cylinders or spend the extra time to buy the rebuild kits and just go that route. I really would rather just take off the old ones and just install new ones. Are there quality replacements? Lets here it folks.

New brake hoses--preferably SS--are definitely in order. I JUST GOT QA NICE SET FROM OLDPHARTZ PARTS

You might as well take the old wheel cylinders apart and look at them before you decide. If they are old you may well see some pitting and unless you want to spend good money after bad it might not be worth rebuilding only to find seeps. That is what I did when I restored mine. The new cylinders weren't too expensive and with new brake lines and a quick rebuild of my master cylinder I decided to run DOT 5 silicone fluid. After the usual goat rope during bleeding I havent lost a drop of fluid in years.
