I can’t say I drove them crazy, I was the proverbial bump on a log as a kid, quiet and shy.
I did have one teacher of various English subjects, she was a WW2 vet and started teaching when she go out of the service after the war, how once told my mother that the first time I ever said a word in one of her classes was to disagree with how she was interpreting a piece of 19[SUP]th[/SUP] century literature. Don’t recall what it was, but she found it funny for years until she passed on. The advantage of a small town school where everyone knows everyone…

Took me until taking public speaking in college to start getting past being quiet and not wanting to talk to a crowd.
