The rubber around the quarter light on my BJ8 is perishing and letting in water. I tried to replace this some time ago but chickened out before I did any damage.
I unscrewed the post for securing the tonneau cover to the door but I seem to remember reading somewhere that there are also some screws holding the "A" frame in place under the chrome finishing strip along the top of the door but I couldn't remove the strip. Perhaps I chickened out too soon and all that's needed is brute force and ignorance to remove the strip.
I need to get this done now as the Mrs. is getting wet! Can anyone tell me if there's a technique for removing this chrome strip without damaging it or the door paintwork.
Also does the catch and the hinge on the glass frame need to be removed to get the glass out so the rubber seal can be replaced or is it simply a case of scraping the rubber out and sliding the glass out.
Thanks
AJ
