Interesting Jalopnik article on BEING TOUGH ON TODAY'S ROADS !!

Had fun reading that. But 'tough' is not a word I'd use for much/many in the driving world. Tough is being able to cope with life's little challenges, or at least being willing to try to cope with them. Whatever they might be. My Truck is a 95 Ford F350 RWD turbo-diesel crewcab long box dually. I change my own oil, but have gotten way too old to think that changing one of those steel wheels with a flat would be fun. I guess I'm kind of tough - sort of like the sandwich that got left out for a day or so. Doug

Neat. I do have a question. I suppose that BugEye is a kit. I have never seen one with a bonnet like that.View attachment 59892

I don't know of a kit for that, but I have seen a couple of custom jobs like that done by owners.

Conversely, there WAS a kit for adding a boot lid, but apart from pictures I've never seen one.

I understand the boot lid.....I think I saw one at a meet once.
I have inspected this photo carefully, thinking yeah, maybe a MKII....but none of the lines are right, like visible top of rear wings.

Lifting THAT bonnet with headlamps is odd. Drop it too hard and lose the filaments. Big enough opening to be useful, but geez, original swung clear out of the way...put a front hinge on it and you're good to go.

Just interesting. I have searched and searched for another photo since I asked the question originally, and so far, nothing.

I thought it was just a reflection.

I won't say for sure, but doesn't look like it. Crosses horizontally between grille and badge, goes up around the outside of both headlamp pods, you can see the line up the right separating wing and bonnet, just oddly interesting.

G’day lbcspinners,
I really enjoyed reading that, especially the last bit about wearing a bicycle helmet to lunch! Driving a Healey in Queensland has similar problems, because SUVs are now the most popular type of car on the market (with good reason).
Cheers,
Alwyn
