Jag....64 MK2....drive it all the time. Drive the 50 F-1 sometimes. Took the F-1 to St. Arbucks Wednesday morning, then loaded the Jag up to go to the gym.

Pushed the clutch in...pedal free, no pressure.
Carp.
Took the F-1.

Got home, checked the pin from pedal to master...good. Master new last year.

Looked under the car, BIG puddle of DOT4.

Okay, jacked it up last night, pulled the slave (and capped off the line)...pulled it apart....this was a new cylinder several years ago...clean fluid....probably rebuilt once.....Lockheed innards..the cup was flat. Sides had NO cup outwards at all.
No pitting or scoring, no piles of garbage in the bottom.

Dug out an old Bendix wheel cylinder kit (I have shelves full, most are more than 40 years old), pulled a 7/8" cup, honed the bore and cleaned, assembled and bled.

I HATE bleeding these clutch hydraulics. Can never get all the air out. Help showing up later, re-bleed at top on firewall where the air collects.

At least it has a US made part in there. Mayhaps it will last.

Different rubber compound. I too look for the equivalent size in mine or others I help with.
Even found the cups for the Roadster wheel cylinders.
Good job.

Speaking of fluid, have had a hard time finding Castrol LMA in the last few years. Used to be in quarts on the shelves of about every auto parts outfit. Finally found it at the local Harley Davidson dealers.
They don't stock it (but have a part number) so had to order a case of pint containers! On my second case now.

O'Rielly's, Advanced Auto Parts, Moss, SNG, XKs and I saw some at Menards. I needed synthetic CASTROL for the 2011 Land Rover and my MINIs, and my 2007 F150. I had qt bottles in white. So,I on dered some from Atlantic British. They came in black, so before I opened them I did a comparison ot the black and white bottles, all the same. Had been using synthetic for decades. All our British parts shops are gone, but not buying from the Land Rover/Jaguar dealer, as shipping is cheaper.
