Our ukulele group played We'll Meet Again Tuesday night. I told Millenial seated next to me "Just like the last scene in Dr. Strangelove". He never heard of it.

Probably never heard of Peter Sellers or Slim Pickens either.

We actually have two Millenials. Besides that ignoramus next to me, we have a 23 year old cute lady accountant who likes folk and bluegrass songs and sings like an angel. Most of the rest of the group ranges from the late 40s to the 80s. The leader is a character. New Age kinda guy, works for the YMCA and leads the group in cargo shorts and bare feet. Once a month, we play at a local bar/restaurant.

If you're ever down this way, we have an old-time jam group that meets every Monday evening at the local dulcimer shop. One uke player in the bunch, but lots of other instruments represented. Great fun and a good bunch of folks.

    Hello Randall

I presume that you are not having any problems with CDex?

I was reading on Wikipedia that there were issues with versions after 1.70 because someone else had taken over the program and were inserting malware in with it.

Install it on your Windows computer (with a CD drive and a USB port).

You'll need to supply an email address to be able to access the on-line free database of CD tracks and titles on-line (which is optional). If you don't though, you'll need to type the names yourself. Otherwise everything winds up named "Track 1" "Track 2" and so on.

I suggest also setting up a directory (C:\Music here) to receive your MP3 files.

Then, with CDex running, just put an audio CD in the drive. Wait a few seconds for the program to identify the CD and look up the names (or enter the names yourself). You should wind up with a display like this:

Hit F9 to start the conversion process (commonly known as "ripping" the CD). You should see a popup kind of like this while it works:

When it's done, you should have a new directory with all the MP3 files that were just created from your CD:

PS, there should be similar software available for Macintosh/Apple, but I don't know anything about it. iTunes has always been a frustrating experience for me, and rarely does what I want.

Not that I know of. I installed version 2.06 on this laptop (just to get those screenshots but I did actually rip the album). Both Windows Defender and MalwareBytes found no malware before or after installation, and I haven't seen any ads or unexpected behavior.

It also appears that the Wiki article is disputed.

But by all means, do your own due diligence.

I did notice that the article was disputed. I see there is a version 2.20 now.

Will have to get all the security software setup before I try it.

With no CD player, how does one read the owner's manual now?

    No problemo!

Just grab your USB cord and USB hub. Plug your laptop and printer into car's USB slot(s). Insert owner's manual disc into laptop, open in a pdf reader, print out the pages you need.

    Nothin' to it!

Or call the manufacturer's 24 hour help line. "Hello. Thank you for calling XYZ Motors, where your safety is our number one priority. Please listen carefully to our 46 menu choices, as they've recently changed.

Uke has made something of a popular resurgence of late. At our fourth of July party we had a gen Z kid attend who carries hers around with her all the time.
