    No more engines with points

Today I finally got around to converting my 1959 Lambretta
    IMG_2403.jpg
to electronic ignition.... no more engines with points. My feeler gauges will now be used only for valve adjustments on my Tripumph.

Ok, I guess the whole premise of my post is pointless.

You do have a point there.

Getting back on track, have you noticed a difference in performance, Elliot?

Oh yeah! Big difference. It's 175cc; I can definitely feel the difference... starting is much easier and throttle response is better.
As an added bonus it went from 6V to 12V so all the lights are brighter and the horn louder. All in all a good upgrade.

That is a nice scooter, I have been thinking about getting some old two wheel toy to tinker with.

Thanks glemon. I also have a ‘63 that I bought used in ‘69 and drove it all through college. They are fun to ride and easy to restore/maintain.

400cc is a big engine to me as mine are 175cc with a four-speed transmission. You are right.... keep an eye out for the "other guy" since they won't be looking for you!
