Today I finally got around to converting my 1959 Lambretta
IMG_2403.jpg

to electronic ignition.... no more engines with points. My feeler gauges will now be used only for valve adjustments on my Tripumph.

Oh yeah! Big difference. It's 175cc; I can definitely feel the difference... starting is much easier and throttle response is better.
As an added bonus it went from 6V to 12V so all the lights are brighter and the horn louder. All in all a good upgrade.

Thanks glemon. I also have a ‘63 that I bought used in ‘69 and drove it all through college. They are fun to ride and easy to restore/maintain.

My son bought some sort of crazy bike with wheels that lean or something. A scooter really. About 400 cc. I told him to drive it like everyopne else is out to get him.

400cc is a big engine to me as mine are 175cc with a four-speed transmission. You are right.... keep an eye out for the "other guy" since they won't be looking for you!
