TR6 Newly purchased poor quality timing gear

I purchased this timing gear set on line last fall in a big sale and as you can see it is unusable. The machining on the teeth is very poor and looks like the tooling was not sharp or they took too large of a cut where it wiped off the metal instead of cutting it off. Good thing I was getting frustrated degreeing my cam and if I was proficient at it this may have gone unnoticed. If you have ordered one recently (and not from TRF) you might want to check it for quality.

I sent an email Sunday right after I discovered it and so far no reply. So busy at work can't take the time to call ether.

That's too bad, but I'm sure that the seller will replace it. I've bought two sets of timing gears recently, and they both were really nice. So, here I was thinking that timing gears were an exception to the tradition of cruddy quality in LBC replacement parts. So much for that impression!

They did say to send it back for refund. Didn't mention exchange like I though they wood have. Thinking I might use a used one off a 70 that only has 30+k on it.

The policy with most suppliers I've dealt with is to issue a refund and then you have to purchase another. Glad you found a good used one though.
